Jian „Uzi“ Zi-Hao is rumored to sign with the North American org Team Liquid for the 2020 Summer Split. He will be the replacement of Yilian „Doublelift“ Peng, who left to join LCS rival TSM.

On Wednesday it was announced that the superstar marksman, who is by many considered to be the second best League of Legends player of all time next to Lee „Faker“ Sang-hyeok, would retire at the age of 23. Now, however, Uzi has come forward to say that it was all a big misunderstanding:

„No no, you misunderstood… I didn’t mean THAT kind of retirement“

As it stands, Uzi appears to not have signed a contract yet, though the negotiations are expected to be done till the end of this week.

The details of the negotiated contract are unknown to TheShoutcaster, but it is rumored that Steve just writes him a fat check.

Team Liquid just came off of a disappointing split, finishing 9th place after winning the LCS title 4 times straight. The team is now looking to return back to the top for the Summer Split, adding Uzi for Doublelift, who left the team after reportedly being unhappy with the way he was treated at TL.

After 8 years and many titles, Uzi leaves the LPL and China. While he has won a lot, he did not manage to win the biggest League of Legends competititon, the World Championship. He was very close two times as he has made the finals of the tournament twice, but ended up not winning it both times.
